Business Derbyshire
The overall vision for our business support theme is to ensure that we improve the rates of business formation, survival and growth within Derbyshire to ensure greater economic prosperity.
Key facts:
- Derbyshire is located in the centre of England
- the population of Derbyshire is 760,200
- the Derbyshire Economy is worth £11.18 billion per year
- Derbyshire is home to 27,900 businesses and is an economy in which small businesses thrive and dominate.
DEP looks to play an active role in creating an environment and culture conducive to entrepreneurship and business success. We support the start-up, growth and survival of dynamic and innovative businesses, making sure they are as competitive as possible and trading at their full potential.
We also want to encourage people to come and visit, live in and invest in Derbyshire. Our job is made so much easier by the fact that we've got some of the most incredibly varied and spectacular landscapes − great natural and historic assets such as Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall, and Derwent Valley Mills. And being a predominantly rural area we have a number of market towns to explore.
