Rural Derbyshire
Rural Derbyshire accounts for about 77% of the county, stretching from the internationally significant Peak District National Park in the north west, to the National Forest in the south with the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site corridor in between.
There are a variety of communities in these areas ranging from market towns and villages to small hamlets and dispersed settlements, each with their own challenges to ensure that people are not disadvantaged through living, working or socialising in these areas.
Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) leader approach
Derbyshire host 2 RDPE leader approach funding programmes. One covers Bolsover and North East Derbyshire administered by North East Derbyshire District Council. One covers the wider Peak District including Derbyshire Dales, High Peak and Staffordshire Moorlands which is administered by the Derbyshire Economic Partnership with Derbyshire County Council as the accountable body.
