Derby Manufacturing University Technical College

Derby benefits from having the Derby Manufacturing University Technical College; one of 44 new University Technical Colleges (UTCs) being launched across the country. UTC's gives students the opportunity to study at a specialist institution equipped to the highest standards and linked to industry. The UTC in Derby is sponsored by the University of Derby along with industry leaders Rolls Royce and Toyota.

University of Derby, Corporate, is the corporate training and development division of the University of Derby.

Nottingham University also has a campuses within the Derby Royal Hospital as an extension to it's medical school.

Just beyond Derbyshire's borders lie some of the best academic and research universities in the country. Universities in Nottingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Leicester and Loughborough are all within easy reach by road and rail.
